The award will go to the male artist whose nomination is based on the debut album or song by that artist and where the album or song in question in the opinion of the public is by its excellence, regardless of genre, better than any other album or song by a male new comer in the Kwacha Music Awards. This Award shall further
consider a female Artist that would have recently presented noteworthy impact onto the music scene and received significant public commendation. The Award will be subjected to a public vote.
